  1. Building a Menu: You can build a menu from scratch in Excel instead of doing it in the POS. Once you are finished, you can upload it into the POS.

  • Category: This tab is to establish all Categories in the Menu
  • KwickPOS-ID: You can leave this column empty. If a menu is exported from the POS, it will assign an ID# to each one. Make sure this column is empty if you wish to import it into the POS.
  • Category Name: Write the name of all Categories. Make sure to copy the Category Name exactly into the Items tab.
  • Category Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Category Name in the desired language.
  • Menu Name: You can separate Categories into different menus. For example- Catering, Lunch, Dinner...
  • Menu Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Menu Name in the desired language.

  • Items: This tab is to establish all Items in the Menu
    • KwickPOS-ID: You can leave this column empty. If a menu is exported from the POS, it will assign an ID# to each one. Make sure this column is empty if you wish to import it into the POS.
    • Category Name: Write the name of all Categories and make sure it is written exactly in the Categories tab.
    • Item Name: Write the name of all Items.
    • Short Name: You can leave this column empty.
    • Item Alt Name:  If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Item Name in the desired language.
    • Description: You can write a description for the item. It will show online.
    • Price: There are 2 ways to write the price. If the item has one price, write it as usual. If you would like to add Options to an item, you can write the Option/Price;Next Option/Price. For example- Small/5;Large/10
    • Quantity: You can write a Quantity amount for each Item. Zero does not affect it.
    • Unit: You can change an Item's unit

      • Per Hour
      • Per Min
      • Ask
      • Ask Price
    • Taxable: If the Item is Taxable or Not.
    • Discountable: If the Item is Discountable or Not.
    • Modifier Groups: If an Item has Modifiers, you can put the Modifier Group Name and separate them with an ; . Make sure the Modifier Group Name is exactly the same in the Global Modifiers tab.

  • Global Modifiers: This tab is to establish all Modifiers in the Menu
    • KwickPOS-ID: You can leave this column empty. If a menu is exported from the POS, it will assign an ID# to each one. Make sure this column is empty if you wish to import it into the POS.
    • Group ID: Every Modifier Group needs a Group ID. You can start naming them from one. Make sure the Group ID and Group Name are the same for each group.
    • Group Name: You can name a Modifier Group. This is what will be written in the Items tab under Modifier Groups.
    • Group Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Item Modifier Group Name in the desired language.
    • Min: You can set up a minimum amount of Modifiers allowed to choose. To make it required, add a one.
    • Max: You can set up a maximum amount of Modifiers allowed to choose. To make it required, add a one.
    • Modifier Name: You can write the Modifiers that will show under the Group Name. These will show in the cart underneath the Item.
    • Modifier Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Modifier Name in the desired language.
    • Price: You can add a price to the Modifiers.
    • Quantity: You can add a Quantity amount for each Modifier.
  • Special Requests: This tab is to establish any Special Requests you would like to add in the Menu.
    • KwickPOS-ID: You can leave this column empty. If a menu is exported from the POS, it will assign an ID# to each one. Make sure this column is empty if you wish to import it into the POS.
    • Group Name: You can write a Group Name to separate Special Requests. Make sure the Group Name is all one word.
    • Group Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Group Name in the desired language.
    • Name: You can write any Special Request that will show in the Menu. These will show underneath the Item. 
    • Alt Name: If you wish to use the POS in a different language, write the Special Request Name in the desired language.
    • Price: You can add a price to the Special Requests.
