December 17th Release Notes

POS:

• In the old version, if “Tax2 for To-Go” was unchecked and the order type was changed from Dine-In to To-Go, the Tax2 value was not removed from the database. This issue is fixed in the new version. [Ticket #155067]
• In the previous version, for Upsale BOGO promotions, if the promotional item had both sub-items and modifiers, the discount was not applied. This issue is fixed in the new version. [Ticket #239773]
• In the previous version, if an order contained a very large number of items (hundreds of lines), editing and updating the order could cause all items to be deleted. This issue is fixed in the new version. However, if an order exceeds 500 lines, it is still recommended to open a new order to add additional items. [Ticket #244333]
• In the current version, the Service Charge Permission Type feature has been added with two options: 1. Standard Access - Add and remove service charges when enabled; no access when disabled. 2. Restricted Removal - Add and remove when enabled; can only add (not remove) when disabled.

Print:

• In the old version, the Advanced > Decimal Kitchen setting did not work for kitchen printers when running in Native Yes mode. This bug has been fixed in the new version.
• In the old version, for native YES mode kitchen receipts, the staff header printed the format TABLENAME + guest number (for example, T23/2), which caused confusion. In the new version, “guests” is added after the number for clarity. [Ticket #176802]
• In the new version, the second (smaller) price on SKU labels has been made slightly larger and bolder for better readability. [Ticket #241811]

• In the previous version, if an order printer was set to native mode and “Allow Rooms” was checked in the printer settings, pickup, walk-in, and delivery kitchen orders were not printed, even though these orders should not have been affected by this setting. This bug has been fixed.[Ticket #251119]

• In the current version, we added a "Credit Debit" button on the payment page for Gift Card payments. It displays when the Surcharge in settings is greater than 0. When merchants use this payment method, the surcharge fee can be removed. [Ticket #243667]

• In the new version, we added MagTek as a kiosk payment option. Enable it by setting Terminal > Credit Processor IP to MagTek and Credit Processor Type to MagTek.

Report:

• In the new version, a reminder has been added under Back Office <  Reporting < SMS Text to notify users that the first 100 SMS messages are free of charge.

• In the new version, a “Pay Time” column has been added to the Cashier Report to display the order payment time. [Ticket #120624]

Other:

• In the new version, we optimized the return tool page and added a date picker.

• In the old version, when Orders > Tools > Show Separate Tools Button on Home Page was unchecked, clicking the logged-in user icon would incorrectly hide the Report menu even if the user had the user report permission. This bug has been fixed in the new version.

• In the old version, when using a Datalogic scale, if an input box was active, values entered in the input field could be overwritten by the scale weight when an item was placed on the scale. This bug has been fixed in the new version.

• In the new version, we separate a new permission for waiter to do the endclose, if check this permission, then the waiter can do the enclosing also. [Ticket #166119]

• In the old version, if merchant setup cash discount, but while selling the gift card, they still want to charge the customer credit fee, they are not able to do this, but in new version, customer can enable the switch at Advanced > Rule & Credit > Gift Cash Discount Surcharge, this will allow them decide to charge credit fee or not while selling the gift card. [Ticket #240936]

• In the new version, a new feature has been added to allow printing a receipt for individual gift card usage records on the Gift Card Usage page when purchasing a gift card.

• In the old version, when a surcharge with cent adjustment was applied, the normal price displayed on the second display was incorrect. This bug has been fixed in the new version. [Ticket #242598]

• In the new version, we added a row called “Tax after Refund/RETURN” to the day report, user report, sales report, and employee report. This row calculates the final tax after deducting the tax from returns and refunds.[Ticket #235933]

• In the new version, a new feature has been added to allow job rotation based on a specified amount, enabling the system to use the total amount divided by this value to assign jobs equally. This setting is available under Advanced > Rules & Credit > Job Tool and Job Rotation Amount.

• In the new version, the table layout style has been improved by shrinking the table and font size and adding clearer borders to table buttons. Configure at: Setup > Order > Menu Layout > Table Layout Size.

• In the previous version, only managers were allowed to run offline transactions. In the new version, a permission has been added for CC Offline, allowing any user with this permission to run offline transactions. [Ticket #236468]

• In the previous version, on iPad KDS, the left arrow button was hidden by the red “Kitchen Working Page” text. This is fixed in the new version.

• In the new version, if item images are lost during an upgrade, the system will automatically relink the images to the items when the user opens the Back Office page.

• In the new version, KwickPOS now supports MagTek HID devices without MagneFlex APP, allowing USB connections on Windows, Linux, and Android, as well as Bluetooth connections on Android.  For more detailed information, please reach out to our support and tech team.

Other: 

• In the previous version, many merchants complained that after their customers scanned the Join Loyalty QR code, they were taken to the Check Loyalty Points page, which was confusing. Even though, after entering the number on the Check Points page, if the number was not in the system, we would ask whether the customer wanted to join Loyalty. In this version, we have a separate tab specifically for joining Loyalty, separate from Check Points.

• In the new online  version, if customers enable the new loyalty and enable the switch at Loyalty -> Setting ->  Allow Online Redeem Points to Dollar or Discount, then customers are able to use their points online to redeem the dollar amount or discount.
