August 2023 Release Notes

1. Order:

A. Local modifier with a special request:

When you order with a local modifier, add a special request with price and add modifier with price, enter the cart special request price will drop. 

B. History order with duplication pricing:

When old customers want to order the same items as previous orders, you can type in the customer’s phone number or name to find out the history of orders and make duplicated orders in the cart. Before, if the item with the double or triple price of the same modifiers, when you duplicate this order, the price will only enter the single price of this modifier. Now we fixed it.

C. Seat mode 1-3:

   a. Before, suppose you are using seat mode 3. When you add an item with a modifier on seat two and the last seat without any item and add another modifier in the previous seat, the item with modifiers will drop to the last seat. Now we fixed it.

   b. Before, if you are using seat mode to take an order and start at seat 2, then go back to seat 1, the item from seat one will drop to the bottom. Now we fixed it. 

2. Print:

A. Dot-matrix printer with modify print ctrl function:

If this function is enabled (Yes), select modifier only, and print out the item with modifier. Before, this function only worked on “kwick pos” mode printers, now working on Dot Matrix printers as well.

B. Togo no tax:

When enabling this function, Togo orders without tax. Print out receipts without tax as well.

C. Kiosk Printing:

Before, if Kiosk → Customer Receipts → Print as “Always”&” Enable,” the kiosk-connected printer will not print out the receipt. Now we fix it.

Note: The kiosk only prints customer receipts and sends orders to the kitchen; it doesn’t print out the cc receipt.

D. Star printer (TSP143III) with Opening cash draw. Ethernet connection only. Set up the Printer Model as “StarIMG.” It only works fine on the physical server, and the virtual server is not working. If you use a Star dot-matrix printer, please change the Printer Model to “Sam4s”, Advanced mode, staff1, and Back printer.

E. When you update an order in a short time, the kitchen printer will print out multiple copies of the tickets. The system is still processing the first print job but still needs to intercept the next one. Now we fixed when the situation occurs, POS will load and intercept the following action until the first job is completed. 

3. Menu:

A. Happy hour and Reservation with item discount.

Before, the item discount cannot work in the cart when you schedule a happy hour time zone from 12:00 pm to 12:59 pm. Fixed now. 

Notes: When you want to change the item discount from happy hour, need to update the item selection as well.

4. Term:

A. KDS with L in quantity number.

There is “1L” before the item display on KDS, now removed “L”.

When you add a ticket, the ticket will display pending on KDS with the 9001 ticket number until you click “Enter” to create the ticket with the correct ticket number. 

5. Report:

A. Clock in Report with wrong date time.Fixed.

B. User report: Logging in with a different username will show the specific user report.

C. Tip suggestions based on pay amount. You need to go to New Back office→SetUp→Tips to enable the function “Multiple Payments tip based on each payment.” Then when you pay by even split, the tip suggestion will be calculated on the paid amount.

6. POS Features:

A. Employee Role setting cannot save.

When you do some updating in Employee —>Role, the change doesn’t save—now fixed. 

B. Customers' loyalty points and rewards cannot save.

Before, when you edit the customer’s Points earned and reward in New Back Office —> Customers, It cannot save the second person’s information—now fixed. 

C. Financial Key: When entering the price or amount for an open item, automatically enter with a dot. Only worked on touch screens, not applied on the physical keyboard.

D. Mode of adjust tip on POS:

We defined a function called “Kwick tip adjustment, double check before batching” in the New Back office→SetUp→Tips.

If you uncheck the box when you adjust the tip on Credit, the system will process the tickets one by one, which needs more time to finish. But it increases the rate of tip success. Uncovering this function will speed up the process but will increase the rate of tip failure. 

1. Menu:

A. Combo:

This feature is good for family orders, or you want to click one item and enter other related items into the cart. It only worked on Global modifiers. Based on the menu set up before, you need to go to Advanced→Menu→Select one of the items as the whole combo name or define other combo names. Click it on the edit page, and here is a button “Combo” in the same line as the “Local modifier” and “Global modifier.” Click “Combo” to define which item or category will contain this combo.

   Option 1: If you click the category only, it defaults to all category items. To achieve it, you need to click the category and item, then use the dustbin button to cancel the category, only keep the item. 

   Option 2:If you click, the item under the category will always be included in a combo.

   Option 3: If you click the items with their category will be options for the combo.

Note: All the items in the combo will have zero prices.

   You can define the options of Option 2 and Option 3 by clicking the Up and Down buttons. 

Note: The Combo function cannot edit under previous settings, if you want to change the Combo plan, you need to redefine the combo items and price. Item selection of the kitchen printer will not be affected.

B. Global modifier with Predefined choices:

This function is similar to the combo but only works on the item with the modifier. You need to go to New Back Office→Menu→Category→item, edit the item, and click predefined to select the modifiers that come with this item. Then when you click this item, it will automatically enter with the defined modifiers. The total price will contain the modifier’s price as well. 

Note: The selected modifier will automatically print to the kitchen, even if it is a drink. The item selection will not work.

C. Optional: Skip both local or global modify:

Sometimes, customers want to avoid adding any modifiers to the item with the modifier. To skip the modifier page, here is a button called “Optional” under New Back Office→Menu→Category→item, edit the item. Click it to enable this feature; it only worked on the item with the global modifier. When you click, the item will not pop out of the modifier page until you click this item in the cart.
